Iftikhar’s unbeaten ton powers Punjab to victory over Federal Areas

RAWALPINDI: Iftikhar Ahmad scored a blazing century to power Punjab to a seven-wicket win against Federal Areas in the Pakistan Cup One-Day cricket tournament at the Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi on Monday.

Chasing 322, Punjab reached the target in the 47th over courtesy splendid hitting by Iftikhar, who hammered six sixes and eight fours in his unbeaten 89-ball 109 knock.

Saad Ali was another main contributor for Punjab, scoring 76 not out off 50 balls. He along with Iftikhar put on 145 runs on the board for the 4th wicket stand.

Sami Aslam scored 81 runs.

Earlier, Punjab’s Waleed Ahmad captured 4 wickets for 59 runs.
